The Bauhaus Poster...
This is a poster, produced in 1923 for a school called Das Staatliche Bauhaus in Germany. Geometric shapes are combined and put together so as to create an interesting form.

From this seemingly random and complicated assortment of shapes arise many images we can create associations with. In the top left a circle, with a dot and some lines looks a lot like a human face. In the top right a circular segment creates an eye. The overall black shape brings to mind a brass instrument such as a saxophone or trumpet.

In my opinion this idea could be extended so that a real world image could be created from very simple shapes. By adding descriptive text to the graphics as with this poster a very interesting visual could be produced. I have decided to use this method to draw a circuit board.

...is a good example of early modern Graphic Design
