The above image is a montage of prints by NE Hayles. She is a Mexican artist who combines monoprinting techniques with
other printing methods to produce vivid, exciting images. The pictures making up the image above are 'żY de Cuba de Che?',
'Frida Otra Vez', and 'Mujer Con Corazon Espinado'.
I am not keen on the use of colour in this image, as it does not fit my purpose of using calmer colours. I do however like the
use of text in the image, both printed and hand written. I would like to include text in my design, and hope to use lettering
on my own monoprints. I am also intrigued by her use of collage in the image, and will do some of my own.
I would like to use splashes of bright colour in my final design, as this will contrast with the calm colours of the rest of the
interior. Bright colours will highlight important parts of the room, showing new inhabitants what to do.
