This image was drawn using stick and ink initially, later shading with charcoal. I decided to look at the watch because of its rotational elements. The design of the clock, and subsequently the watch, has changed very little in the last few hundred years. The circular form of the face is ideally suited to the function of containing the rotating hands.
I have drawn the watch so as to look at the forms contained in the watch casing. A number of reasonably complex shapes interlock to produce a simple and sleek shape. A similar form could be successfully used in my folding product.
Next I will produce a 3D model exploring the individual parts of the watch.
