This is a pretty simple extension of the last card model, I have just changed the design of the end leg, so as to make it more sturdy. I have also incorporated an idea from the paper folding skills section of an earlier project. By placing a slot on the floor of the interior and on the back of one of the panels and a fitting tab on the end of the far leg it is possible to 'lock' the furniture in it's different configurations. This makes it a more solid design, and easier to use. Stability is obviously a key consideration in the design, as a person must be able to rely on the safety of the extended bed when it is carrying the load of a sleeping person.
The slot design is a good idea, as it makes the furniture far more stable than the last model. I'm still not sure about the far leg, it doesn't seem to be capable of bearing the weight of the bed. The hinge system which extends it would really limit it's capability of staying upright.
